Challenge the ‘Single Story’ of the Outdoors, Conservation, and Recreation

May 9, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

There is a ‘single story’ at the root of the meaning we’ve made of the outdoors, conservation, and our recreation in those environments. That single story, we’re coming to understand, has limited our ability to relate to those defined out of the story. Relationship is at the heart of the diversity, equity, and inclusion challenge to the ‘single story.’ This workshop will explore the ‘single story’ that defines our work and our play and the disrupting narratives of diversity, equity, and inclusion that are shifting the boundaries of power, margin, and center. A short reading or film clip will be assigned in advance.
